Routing Manager - Manages routing process improvements, streamlining the overall routing process across multiple branches, and leads change management for new process implementation. Partners with and trains associates throughout the enterprise.
Essential Duties
- Manage routing processes, delivery schedules, electronic logs, and driver scheduling.
- Support implementation of new routing technologies and tools.
- Assist in what‑if analysis for customer onboard/offboards.
- Maintain access and customer profiles in Roadnet Anywhere and Sales Tools.
- Improve customer record keeping.
- Develop cost analysis for new customers.
- Identify and evaluate solutions for improving driver scheduling.
- Research tools and systems to facilitate dispatch activities.
- Provide effective feedback to associates and management.
- Travel to multiple branches and work with teams to improve distribution operation.
- Maintain a good relationship with all transportation and sales team.
- Establish equipment utilization metrics.
- Monitor, communicate and improve on‑time deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, company policies and DOT laws.
- Assign equipment according to factors such as length of trip, cubic capacity, and route
- Provide detailed schedules for customers including delivery days, order cutoff, and delivery times.
- Coordinate with drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse management team to ensure on‑time dispatches.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required. Degrees in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering/Sciences, or Business are a plus.
- 4+ years of related experience.
- Experience in a food‑service distribution environment preferred.
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Strong analytical and data management skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and growth potential.
- Ability to thrive in both team and solo environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be available to work with the demands of the department, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
