Job summary

Shamrock Foods Company in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Transportation Dispatcher to assign equipment and coordinate conveyance of product. You will compile equipment lists, assign trips, and maintain dispatch sheets for day and night shipping.

The role requires knowledge of DOT hours of service, an acceptable MVR and the ability to work overnights, weekends and holidays. You will interact with drivers, customers and multiple departments to ensure timely, accurate deliveries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus three months related experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic desktop PC use.
• Basic knowledge of DOT hours of service for CDL drivers.
• Must have an acceptable MVR for the past 39 months.
• Willing to work overnight shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assign equipment and personnel for product conveyance.
• Compile list of available equipment.
• Assign equipment by trip length and product needs.
• Maintain dispatch sheets for night and day shipping.
• Direct drivers using available communication methods.
• Coordinate with customers to expedite or locate missing/damaged items.
• Update customer files in RoadNet.
• Communicate with departments regarding label runs and invoice releases.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, policies and DOT laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

This position is responsible for assigning equipment and associates for conveyance of product.

• Compiling list of available equipment.
• Assigning equipment according to factors such as length of trip, product requirements, driver consistency.
• Maintaining dispatch sheet for night and day shipping.
• Directing activities of drivers by available communication methods.
• Conferring with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed or damaged merchandise.
• Maintaining and updating all customer files in road net.
• Communicates with all necessary departments with regards to label runs and invoice releases.
• Assuring compliance with all safety procedures, company policies and DOT laws.
• Performing other duties as assigned to meet business needs

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three months related experience.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and basic use of a desktop PC
• Basic knowledge of DOT laws governing hours of service for CDL drivers.
• Must possess an acceptable MVR for the previous 39 months.
• Must be available to work with the demands of the department which are subject to overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
