Job summary

Shamrock Foods Company is seeking a warehouse associate to read schedules, move materials, and prepare orders for shipment. You will contribute to safe, efficient storage and distribution of goods across our Arizona operations.

The role requires basic reading and math skills, ability to follow instructions, and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Benefits include health insurance and retirement plans as part of a growing national team.

  • Adds and subtracts two-digit numbers and handles units of money, weight, volume, and distance.

Responsibilities

  • Reads production schedules, customer orders, and requisitions to determine items to move, gather, or distribute.
  • Conveys materials from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
  • Sorts materials and stores them by predetermined sequence (size, type, color, or product code).
  • Fills requisitions and distributes stock items to production workers or packing/shipping.
  • Assembles customer orders and prepares pallets or shelves for shipping.
  • Maintains inventory records and updates computer-entered data.

Job description

Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties.

Follow all required work safe practices. This would include compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.

  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
  • Uses computer to enter records.
  • Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
  • Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
  • Completes requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.
  • Prepares parcels for mailing.
  • Maintains inventory records.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to reach and handle objects, tools, or controls.
  • Occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Regularly lift and /or move up to 100 pounds
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
