Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Routing Specialist to plan and optimize daily routes for dedicated customers across the Ryder network.

You will use routing software and automated processes to produce executable plans for the operations team, collaborating with engineering and field teams. This role requires a bachelor's in engineering, business, or supply chain and up to 1 year of related transportation experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management (or related discipline) required.
• 0 to 1 year in Transportation or Supply Chain industry – required.
• 0 to 1 year in Transportation Experience preferred (Transportation Management, Dedicated, FTL, LTL).
• Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Access, Excel and PowerPoint & Visio. Beginner, Required.
• Knowledgeable of data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) and database programming (SQL, DAX, etc.). Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily route planning for operating teams, leveraging automated processes and using transportation modeling software.
• Monitor electronic processing of order files from customers and processing of completed routes back to DTS operating teams.
• Produce optimal, executable, multi-stop dedicated routes based on pre-determined parameters and customer orders within a defined period.
• Responsible for route planning for multiple sessions per day for multiple locations for 1 or more customers, typically taking 1 to 2 hours each session.
