Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Wilmer, TX, is seeking a full-time CDL driver to haul commercial frontload and ancillary equipment along designated routes to collect solid waste and transfer it to post-collection facilities.

You will perform pre/post-trip inspections, interact with customers, maintain logs, navigate with GPS, and follow safety policies. The role requires CDL and 1 year of driving experience; the position offers stable hours with overtime potential.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Minimum of one (1) year commercial truck driving experience OR CDL school certificate.
• Must meet safety sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.

Responsibilities

• Drive commercial frontload or ancillary equipment along designated routes to collect solid waste and take to post-collection facilities.
• Open container enclosures or gates to access cans and position cans for dumping.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and submit vehicle condition reports.
• Interact courteously with customers along the route and report issues to supervisor.
• Keep the work area clean around truck and containers and address spills.
• Maintain and submit logbooks, route/productivity sheets, and post-trip inspections as required by law.
• Maneuver the truck in/out of tight spaces using mirrors and back-up procedures.
• Use maps and GPS to locate service addresses.
• Follow safety practices including lockout/tagout and other company procedures.
• Monitor operations for debris and ensure safety before/after dumping.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
