Job summary

JP Mascaro & Sons is seeking a Route Supervisor in Reading, PA to allocate manpower and equipment, ensure efficient routes, and maintain safety standards. The role involves coordinating with customers, municipalities, and ensuring contracts and regulatory compliance.

You will train staff, monitor performance, and manage route optimization in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of leadership experience, a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred), and strong communication

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of leadership experience.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL strongly preferred or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs frequently.
• Strong work ethic with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Must be organized and motivated to succeed with ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Allocate daily manpower and equipment for assigned areas to ensure high levels of service, efficiency, and safety.
• Coordinate with customers, municipalities, and companies to ensure adherence to contracts and Code, DOT and OSHA.
• Drive trash trucks or use a pickup to cover misses or routes when needed.
• Train and maintain training for all assigned employees in service, equipment operation, safety, and company policies.
• Establish and maintain route efficiency, re-evaluate routes and redistribute workloads as needed.
• Conduct investigations for injuries/incidents, identify root causes, and retrain as necessary.
• Review documentation daily (VCRs, driver logs, pre/post trips).
• Evaluate neighborhoods and customers to resolve safety issues.
• Maintain regular interactions with employees to motivate them and understand career goals.
• Foster a culture of trust and open communication.
• Handle special projects and other duties as assigned.
