Job summary

Interstate Batteries in San Diego seeks a Route Service Manager to deliver batteries and provide excellent customer service to a fixed route of dealers.

You will maintain dealer relations, handle invoicing and payments, rotate batteries, and ensure safety and compliance with EH&S rules. This is a full-time role requiring a valid DOT medical certificate and possibly a Class A/B CDL, along with a strong driving and customer service background.

Qualifications

• Must possess current DOT Medical Certification and maintain clean driving record.
• Depending on equipment operated, Class A or B CDL may be required.
• Prior driving and customer service experience highly desirable.
• Good communication and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to read, write and compute basic math.

Responsibilities

• Deliver batteries and service each dealer on your route in a timely manner.
• Follow all Environmental Health and Safety rules and policies.
• Establish, build and maintain good dealer relationships.
• Complete documentation on a timely basis.
• Maintain the route by keeping displays clean and dealer list up to date.
• Invoice units that fail to last warranty period.
• Rotate batteries to maintain quality product and service standards.
• Collect and handle payments on account, which may include cash, checks and money orders.
• Load and unload truck.
