Job summary

Flowers Foods, Inc. is seeking a Route Sales Representative for the Southern California region to manage ordering, sales and delivery of our fresh baked products.

You will build relationships with customers and ensure timely deliveries in a Direct Store Delivery environment. The role requires 3+ years driving, the ability to start around 3:00am, and a proactive approach to promoting in-store promotions and promotions while maintaining product turnover and shelf life.

Qualifications

• Delivery driver experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Have had a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card.
• Must have a valid state driver’s license and documented safe driving record.
• Must meet Fleet Insurance Guidelines.
• Must adhere to federal, state, and local rules regarding the operation of a CMV.
• Must execute the best practices of RSR training (after 4-week company paid training).
• Must be able to push or pull up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Ordering, sales, and delivery of fresh baked products.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
• Check delivery vehicle daily, keeping accurate records, reporting maintenance issues, and filling out daily driver’s logs, time logs, and hours of service.
• Work varying workdays and early morning start times (around 3:00am) with days off Wednesday and Sunday.
• Increase sales by expanding shelf space, displaying in-store promotions and displays, and ensuring product shelf life by proper rotation.
• Use data and marketing plans to build relationships and drive customer growth through planning, ordering, and execution.
• Work with customers to increase sales and drive customer satisfaction; may need to work non-traditional hours for deliveries.
• Ability to work independently and as a team in a DSD environment; prior delivery driver experience beneficial.
