Job summary

Herr Foods Inc. is seeking a Route Sales professional to drive a step-van, deliver, merchandise, and provide excellent customer service across grocery and independent stores in Hatfield, PA. The role offers full-time, benefit-eligible employment with on-site health resources and a retention bonus.

The position requires a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and the ability to read, write, and speak English. Expect a 45–50 hour workweek, with some weekends based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license in the state of residence.
• Excellent driving record.
• No more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years.
• No DUI’s within the past 3 years.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must pass a job-related assessment with a score of 70% or better.
• All Herr Foods Inc. offers are contingent upon successfully passing a drug test.
• Able to read, write, understand and speak English.
• Possess a stable work history with good references.
• Display evidence of sound judgment and ability to adapt quickly to different work and driving conditions.
• Possess strong communication, persuasion, and organizational skills.
• Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Sell, deliver, stock and merchandise Herr's brand snack foods to grocery retail and independent chain stores.
• Progressively increase current customer sales volume; build relationships with key decision makers.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate product knowledge.
• Increase customer base by soliciting new accounts.
• Execute company-sponsored promotional programs by acquiring temporary and incremental product displays, shelving and racks.
• Rotate and provide credit to accounts for stale or damaged items to ensure freshest products.
• Process orders by entering product codes into handheld computers.
• Collect cash from customers and accurately process invoices.
• Manage daily accuracy of product inventory.
• Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle safety inspections and maintain a clean truck.
