Job summary

GFL Environmental in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Route Supervisor to lead a team of drivers, manage daily routes, and ensure safe, efficient residential collection services while delivering top-notch customer service to the local community.

You will oversee dispatcher liaison, equipment needs, and collaborate with maintenance to keep vehicles and safety devices in peak condition, while promoting a culture of safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Supervisory or leadership experience managing teams and day-to-day operations.
• Waste management experience, especially residential collection vehicles, preferred.
• CDL with Air Brake endorsement preferred; knowledge of vehicle inspections and DOT compliance beneficial.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; flexible hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision, coaching, and training to drivers; conduct reviews and manage performance.
• Promote a safe work culture; conduct safety evaluations and investigations as needed.
• Oversee daily routes, coordinate with dispatch for schedule changes, handle vacation requests, resolve service issues.
• Recommend equipment budgets and manage costs; coordinate with maintenance for vehicle safety.
• Maintain inventory of operational supplies and coordinate with vendors for supply chain needs.
• Maintain courteous, prompt communication with residents and clients to resolve inquiries.
