Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. in Normal, IL seeks a Support Route Driver to fill in on open routes and support daily delivery operations. Flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules while upholding safety, service, and on-time delivery standards is required.

Responsibilities include delivering and picking up freight, inspecting vehicles, loading efficiently, and maintaining professional appearance. Must be 21+, valid driver's license, reliable, and able to pass DOT and background checks;

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards.

Responsibilities

• Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned route based on business needs.
• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers.
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle.
• Load the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space and prevent damage to packages.
• Collect payments for certain packages delivered.
• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers.
• Notify management of any problems or discrepancies.
• Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle.
• Travel may be required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
