Job summary

City Market Co-Op in Vermont seeks a Rounder to assist in food production within our Prepared Foods Department, creating meals per daily lists. You will help prep, stock displays, label products, rotate stock, and ensure freshness and attractiveness of finished goods.

The role is non-exempt, unionized (UE Local 203) and located at all City Market locations; prior kitchen experience and ServSafe certification are valued.

Qualifications

• One year of line cook, sous chef or chef experience OR two years of kitchen required.
• High School diploma or GED required; culinary degree preferred.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Knowledge of natural and conventional foods and the food industry helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in preparation, stocking and cleaning of all food display and production stations.
• Ensuring products are labeled and rotated in all food storage and refrigerated areas.
• Gathering ingredients from storage or from other departments as necessary.
• Assisting with receiving and stocking new products when needed.
• Ensuring that finished products are tasty, fresh and attractive.
• Compliance with established City Market procedures and practices regarding operations, sales, safety, and security.
• May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
