Job summary

Volumetric Building Companies (VBC) is seeking a skilled carpenter to join our Berwick, PA crew. You will measure, cut, and assemble lumber and building materials, interpreting blueprints to ensure precise framing of walls, roofs, and floors. You’ll use hand and power tools, lift up to 50 lbs, and maintain safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 years carpentry experience, including framing.
• Physically capable to lift 50 lbs and perform bending/stamina tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Skilled with hand and power tools.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Attention to safety and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, and shape lumber and building materials.
• Assemble materials with screws, nuts, bolts, and air-powered tools.
• Build wooden structures including walls, roofs, and flooring.
• Construct window and door frames, staircases, and flooring.
• Ensure structural integrity by blocking per blueprints.
• Inspect materials for defects.
• Identify deviations from design and troubleshoot issues.
• Clean job sites and dispose of debris.

Responsibilities

• Accurate measuring, cutting, and shaping lumber, wood, and other building materials
• Attaching building materials using screws, nuts, and bolts, and air‑powered guns
• Building wooden structures, including walls, roofs, and flooring, according to design and blueprints
• Constructing window and door frames as well as staircases and flooring
• Ensure the structural integrity of floors, walls, and ceilings by blocking according to blueprints
• Examining building materials to identify any defects
• Identify deviations from design and troubleshoot manufacturing issues
• Performing cleanups of job sites by clearing away all carpentry debris and waste

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• 2 years of carpentry experience, including framing
• Physical strength and stamina
• The ability to interpret blueprints
• The ability to accurately measure to specifications
• The ability to safely use hand and power tools
• The ability to lift, push, pull at least 50 lbs; bend, stoop, and kneel repetitively; and reach above the shoulder to work
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Effective communication skills

Additional Information

• The Pay Range for this position is $22.32 - $28.32 per hour based on experience and qualifications. We also offer the following benefits:
