Job summary

Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. is seeking an SMW Team Leader to act as the working lead for their area of expertise. You will be the primary resource for leadership, technical guidance, and proactive problem-solving to ensure smooth operations and safe production practices.

The role requires strong leadership, knowledge of production processes, and the ability to drive continuous improvement while collaborating across teams and safeguarding quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must have strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
• Experience with production flow, drawings/blueprints, and BOMs is helpful.
• Ability to learn and apply advanced training like Lean/6S and 8‑Step Problem Solving.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of problem solving and determine involvement from others.
• Champion creative, practical solutions to production obstacles.
• Transform obstacles into actionable steps to drive success.
• Identify risks and gaps to ensure safe, effective production.
• Monitor and present productivity and utilization metrics.
• Manage daily production schedules (DPS).
• Communicate clearly across all levels with assignments and reports.
• Provide technical guidance to operators based on skill.
• Lead risk assessments using First Things First process before non‑standard work.
• Identify opportunities to improve departmental efficiency and cost performance.
• Participate in BBS and BBQ daily as observer and champion.
