Job summary

Moderna is seeking a highly motivated candidate for its CMC Development Rotation Program in Norwood, MA. This full-time role offers three 6-month rotations, enabling exposure to synthesis of mRNA, lipid nanoparticle formulation, and drug product formulation within a high-performance team focused on manufacturing platforms for clinical trials and commercialization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field preferred.
• Strong fundamental scientific and engineering skills for evaluation of experimental data.
• Laboratory skills applicable to bioprocess development and analytical methods.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of experts to get up to speed on technology and techniques.
• Use laboratory and communication skills to generate results, analyze data, and document in reports.
• Perform process scale-up, support tech transfer, and provide manufacturing support at Moderna sites.
• Plan, design, execute, and analyze experiments including risk assessments to establish parameters.
• Optimize formulation and processing conditions for stability of mRNA products.
• Review literature and establish collaborations with internal teams.
• Create scaled-down models and high-throughput setups for unit operations.
• Characterize mRNA and lipid nanoparticles with analytical teams.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings in cross-functional meetings.
• Additional duties as assigned.
