Job summary

Hypertherm Associates seeks an entry-level Rotational Mechanical Engineer. This program offers rotations between Hanover, NH and Kent, WA, pairing you with senior engineers to develop skills across product design, manufacturing support, and troubleshooting.

Graduating BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering in 2026 or 2027 will be considered. You will contribute to CAD designs (SolidWorks), sustaining engineering, cost-saving initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Currently completing final year of BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering (Graduating in December 2026 or May 2027).
• Contributes to designs, performs tests, and analyzes routine problems under a more senior engineer’s guidance.
• Understanding of the principles behind the current product design and ability to maintain those design principles.

Responsibilities

• Become a subject matter expert of mechanical subsystems within Plasma and Waterjet cutting systems, CNC, and THCs.
• Maintain and support released products, including design changes in sustaining engineering projects.
• Lead cost savings or product improvement initiatives through design changes and testing.
• Collaborate with procurement, engineers across teams, PCB designers, technicians, and manufacturing.
• Develop best engineering practice procedures to improve processes and delivery of high-quality products.
