Job summary

Hypertherm Associates seeks an entry-level Rotational Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic program rotating between New Hampshire and Washington locations. You will work as a Design Engineer, supporting new product development, supplier quality, and manufacturing operations while learning the business end-to-end.

Graduating in December 2026 or May 2027 with a BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering is expected. You will collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Currently completing final year of BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering (Graduating in Dec 2026 or May 2027).
• Contributes to designs, performs tests, and analyzes routine problems under guidance.
• Understanding of current product design principles and ability to maintain them.

Responsibilities

• Become a subject matter expert of Mechanical subsystems within Plasma and Waterjet cutting systems, CNC, and THCs.
• Maintain and support released products, manage changes with suppliers and drive change management.
• Lead cost savings or product improvement initiatives through design changes and testing.
• Analyze documentation and test data to ensure designs meet specs.
• Collaborate with procurement, engineers, PCB designers, technicians, manufacturing, and quality.
• Maintain project timelines with effective communication.
• Develop best engineering practices to improve processes and delivery.
• Apply engineering principles in lab environments with technician support.
