Job summary

Hypertherm Associates seeks a Rotational Electrical Engineer for an entry-level role designed for students completing their BS or MS. The program includes rotations between Hanover, NH and Kent, WA, offering exposure to design engineering and cross-team collaboration.

You will work with senior engineers on new product development, sustaining engineering, and support across manufacturing, suppliers, and customers, building foundational skills and contributing to cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

• Final year student for BS or MS in Electrical Engineering graduating Dec 2026 or May 2027.
• Ability to follow project plans and work with senior engineers.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Become SME of Electrical subsystems within Plasma and Waterjet systems, CNC, and THCs.
• Support released products, manage component changes with suppliers and driving change management to ensure compliance.
• Lead cost savings or product improvement initiatives by design changes, verification and validation testing, and contributing to business cases.
• Analyze technical documentation and test data to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
• Collaborate with procurement, engineers across business teams, PCB designers, technicians, manufacturing, and quality.
• Maintain project timelines by effective verbal and written communication.
• Develop best engineering practice procedures by continuously improving existing processes to facilitate delivery of high-quality products to customers.
• Apply engineering principles in lab environment with critical lab technician support.
