Job summary

Colonna's Shipyard is seeking Management Trainees for an 18-month, full-time program in Norfolk, VA. Trainees will rotate through key trades, manage projects, and interact with executive leadership to develop leadership and project management skills.

After rotational training, a 6-month trial will align individuals with best-matched programs, potentially leading to progressive managerial roles in shipyard operations, safety, procurement, and facilities management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Must be proficient with core Microsoft 365 programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).
• Must be able to work as part of a team.
• Must have regular, reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist in key steps of project management, including personnel, material, equipment, and facilities management.
• Gain exposure to shipyard and industrial operations related to government and commercial contracts.
• Assist leadership with safety and timely installation, modification, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
• Become familiar with the various craft trades involved in daily operations.
• Conduct ship checks, attend meetings, read and interpret detailed work items and customer requirements.
• Gather and interpret data to prepare reports and documentation for higher level personnel.
