Qualifications

• Current student enrolled full-time pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university.
• Majoring in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 0-2 years experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred.
• Fundamental understanding of statistics as it applies to designed experiments and understanding process variability.
• Working knowledge of or willingness to learn about process control systems in a DCS environment.
• Good analytical skills (ability to interpret process historical trends, analytical results, etc.).
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team.
• Results oriented; translate business needs into priorities and actions.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Co-ops report to their engineering team's manager and work with Technical, Business and Engineering personnel on projects.
• Participate and lead in design, installation, startup and operations maintenance of chemical process equipment.
• Initiate ideas to generate improvement projects throughout the polyester stream.
• Provide project management and technical support for capital projects.
• Contribute to long-term process improvement and cost savings or reliability projects.
• Evaluate new product, process or equipment applications and recommend improvements.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and operations groups.
• Assist in checkout and startup on new processes and equipment, possibly with shift coverage.
