Job summary

AFL in South Carolina invites Engineering Co-ops to join a rotating program across process, manufacturing, design, development and quality engineering. Starts Summer 2027 with mentorship and monthly coordination.

Corporate housing is provided for non-locals, plus a gas stipend for long commutes. The program offers hands-on experience, competitive pay and exposure to industry-leading fiber optic technologies.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
• Sophomore standing with minimum 2.75 GPA.
• Interest in manufacturing processes and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct time studies and map value streams to improve processes on the floor.
• Analyze data, process flows, and routings to develop improvements.
• Document results and present recommendations to management.
• Assist Development Engineers in design and production activities.
• Collaborate with test engineers to design and build fixtures for fiber optic testing.
• Create CAD drawings or 3-D models for concept designs.
