Job summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking a Rotational Engineer Plan Review in Storm Water Services. The program rotates through divisions, giving exposure to strategic planning, asset management, design, and regulatory work.

After rotations, you’ll join a team to advance capital improvement projects and ensure safe drainage systems. Entry-level engineers gain hands-on experience with Hydrology/ hydraulics software (HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, HY8, ArcGIS) and design review, while working for a city that values

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Experience or coursework in storm water engineering preferred.
• Familiarity with hydrology & hydraulic software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering activities across divisions of Storm Water Services.
• Support capital improvement projects and project engineers.
• Perform hydrologic/hydraulic calculations and design support.
