Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. seeks eager entry-level engineers for its Rotational Engineering (ROE) Program.

The 18-month program spans Electrical, Civil, and Mechanical disciplines within Transmission and Distribution engineering services, offering coaching, mentoring, and cross-functional experience across locations in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, and New Jersey. Participants complete three rotations of about six months, must be geographically flexible, and may transition to full-time

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required or equivalent
• Participation in an Engineering Co-op or Internship preferred
• Ability to incorporate safety into project designs
• Ability to reliably report to assigned work locations
• Familiarity with NEC and safety codes
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Office; AutoCAD preferred

Responsibilities

• Recognize risks and implement safety precautions for a safe work environment
• Conduct technical research and analysis; interpret results and make recommendations
• Propose and implement technical solutions for basic processes/projects
• Prepare engineering change packages, specs, technical reports, and presentations
• Produce engineering output documents including minor modifications
• Manage and complete activities to support timely system operations
• Ensure compliance with design codes and standards
• Provide sound customer service
• Seek ways to add value within scope of assignments
• Deliver results on various projects; assist in project start-up
• Work independently and in teams as required
