Job summary

COUNTRY Financial is launching your accounting career through the Controllers Rotational Program in Illinois. Over two years you’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple accounting disciplines, working with seasoned professionals to understand how a leading insurance organization operates.

You’ll perform general accounting activities, prepare and reconcile ledger accounts and financial statements, and contribute to process improvements while developing expertise in financial reporting,

Qualifications

• Typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training.
• GAAP knowledge and compliance with regulatory requirements are part of the role.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are important for accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, analyzes, and reconciles financial transactions, account balances, and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
• Completes month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries and financial reporting.
• Analyzes financial data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvements.
• Maintains internal controls and supports compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Contributes to special projects, system implementations, and other departmental priorities.
• Prepares and delivers presentations and project updates to management and stakeholders.
