John Crane, a business of Smiths Group, is seeking a Seal Repair Technician in Cedar Rapids, IA, to perform DCI (Dismantle Clean and Inspect) and document wear on critical components. You will disassemble, inspect, and reassemble rotating equipment under guidance, ensuring proper cleaning and part replacement.

Competenze

• Two years of mechanical seal equipment experience or equivalent in refining or petrochemical markets.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, memos, and short correspondence.
• Ability to present information in one-on-one or small group settings.

Mansioni

• Identify and inspect material returned; verify against BOM/drawings.
• Ensure components are cleaned and free of foreign material per procedures.
• Assemble seals after repair release and component replacement.
• Repair returned seals and seal parts under supervision.
• Assess cost structure and price repairs; ensure BOM/drawings match.
• Operate basic shop tools: drill press, bead blast polisher, lapping machine.
• Perform additional duties as required by the business.
