Job summary

Dow is seeking a Rotating Equipment Specialist to support our Knoxville Maintenance Organization. You will ensure the safe and reliable operation of rotating equipment like pumps, compressors, motors, and turbines, while mentoring team members and driving maintenance improvements.

Ideal candidates bring a bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience, 3+ years in rotating equipment, and a willingness to participate in an on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience at or above US E5 or Canadian rank.
• Mechanical engineering degree is a plus.
• At least 3 years of experience maintaining rotating equipment.
• In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of rotating equipment experience.
• Willing to participate in on-call maintenance schedule (approximately one week).

Responsibilities

• Acts as technical resource for the maintenance team.
• Reviews and adjusts preventive maintenance activities to assure reliability of equipment.
• Checks sizing of components and parts.
• Specifies, requisitions, and supports installation of parts and equipment.
• Coordinates identification of critical spare parts.
• Supports maintenance planning activities as needed.
• Identifies and supports training of mechanics.
• Oversees and is accountable for the quality of repairs and ensures high-quality results.
• Supports repairs, maintenance and installation of equipment used in the process.
• Troubleshoots and directs repairs of malfunctions and documents failure analysis.
• Collects equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.
• Works within established Maintenance Work Processes and helps resolve planning/scheduling issues.
• Interfaces with Maintenance and Reliability engineering to support improvement efforts.
