Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer for our Pasadena electromechanical service center in Pasadena, TX. This on-site role blends hands-on mechanical work, shop inspections, precise measurements, and CAD documentation, with occasional field service overhauls.

You will be the technical point of contact for customers, coordinating with the repair shop and quotation teams to drive heavy rotating equipment repairs from teardown to assembly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Preferred: rotating equipment repair/overhaul background.
• Preferred: vibration analysis or diagnostics experience.
• Familiarity with micrometers and calipers, and seal/bearing clearances.
• CAD experience with SolidWorks or Autodesk for documenting changes.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day shop and field operations for rotating equipment inspections, teardowns, repairs, and overhauls (up to 40% field).
• Collaborate with machine shop and quotation teams to define repair scopes.
• Perform precision measurements and document findings clearly.
• Create/update CAD drawings to document design or repair changes for customers.
• Serve as the primary mechanical contact during on-site inspections and evaluations.
