Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer for our Pasadena electromechanical service center. This on-site role splits time between hands-on work, shop inspections, precision measurements, and engineering documentation, with up to 40% field service overhauls.

You will coordinate with repair shops, machine shop, and quotation teams to manage heavy rotating equipment repairs from teardown to assembly, serving customers onsite as the primary mechanical contact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with rotating equipment repair or overhaul is preferred.
• Field service experience and CAD proficiency are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day shop and field operations, including rotating equipment inspections and hands-on overhauls.
• Collaborate with machine shop and internal teams to define repair scopes.
• Perform precise measurements and document findings clearly for schedules.
• Create/update CAD drawings to document design or repair changes for customer review.
• Act as the primary mechanical contact for customers during inspections and evaluations.
