Job Summary:

The Rotating Equipment Engineer is part of the reliability organization supporting maintenance and operations in improving the overall performance and availability of machinery located at TPC sites. This position serves as the rotating equipment subject matter expert for their assigned areas. We are seeking candidates who will strive to improve rotating equipment programs, foster teamwork, and ensure a safe work environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop long-term strategies for plant rotating equipment including pumps, turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, hydraulic valve systems.
2. Build asset maintenance strategies and maintain ITPM plans per RAGAGEP.
3. Update and maintain engineering specifications for rotating equipment.
4. Analyze possible rerates and upgrades to improve throughput and reliability of critical equipment trains.
5. Provide recommended upgrades for critical equipment such as GE Frame 5, Turbo Generator, and critical positive displacement compressors.
6. Apply life cycle value analysis on repair/replace decisions.
7. Provide guidance in equipment criticality with establishment of spare part strategies.
8. Provide input to maintenance on repairs of rotating equipment.
9. Lead troubleshooting with operations, process engineering, and other functional engineers for machinery.
10. Complete equipment performance testing to predicted curves.
11. Deliver TA recommendations and planning input for critical machinery.
12. Support capital projects by providing expertise in the area of rotating equipment in design reviews and construction.
13. Document savings benefits of reliability improvement modifications and upgrades.
14. Lead commercial partnerships with key suppliers and vendors (e.g., Seals contract).
15. Provide input to reliability improvement teams and conduct FMEA studies to enhance onstream availability.
16. Document root causes of rotating equipment failures.
17. Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics for proactive reliability issue resolution.
18. Participate in the management of change process.
19. Interact with other departments to complete daily assignments.
20. Promote a safe work environment through personal attitude and behavior.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in engineering.
2. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
3. Minimum of 15 years of experience in rotating equipment within the petrochemical industry.
4. Vibration certification or 10+ years of experience in vibrational analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with AMS Machinery Health and Bently Nevada monitoring systems.
2. Lubrication knowledge or certification.
3. Understanding of industry standards, recommended practices, and regulatory considerations for rotating equipment.
4. Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance practices.
5. Understanding of RAGAGEP engineering practices and principles.
6. Knowledge of predictive technologies such as vibration analysis, infrared thermography, lubrication analysis, ultrasound, etc.
7. Basic knowledge of Maximo or similar computerized maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP).
