Job Summary

This role involves leading the design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical equipment and processes. Responsibilities include preparing specifications, datasheets, material requisitions, reviewing vendor documentation, overseeing testing, and providing technical oversight. The position requires at least three days per week in person, with schedules determined in coordination with supervisors.

Major Responsibilities

• Conduct independent mechanical engineering work on medium-sized projects, applying judgment and technical expertise.
• Lead design and evaluation of mechanical components, ensuring compliance with standards and project requirements.
• Communicate complex technical issues effectively to management.
• Develop conceptual designs and support project estimates, staffing, and scheduling.
• Interpret regulations and standards, coordinate with clients, and lead technical studies.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical training programs.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Advanced expertise in rotating/packaged equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, and electric motors, with thorough knowledge of ASME and API standards.
• Proficiency with API 610 and API 617 standards; experience with gas turbines, steam turbines, and reciprocating compressors is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills, judgment, and ability to work independently.
• Excellent networking skills within the engineering community and beyond.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME or equivalent) with 10-13 years of relevant experience, or 14-17 years of applicable work experience.
