Job summary

Baker Hughes Holdings LLC is seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer to provide comprehensive service solutions for customers, focusing on machinery health, protection, and monitoring systems across oil and gas, chemical, and power industries.

The role requires diagnosing issues from vibration data, performing rotor dynamic analysis, and delivering clear reports. Candidates should have a engineering degree and be prepared for extensive travel and offshore assignments when needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with rotating equipment or machinery (compressors, turbines, pumps, fans).
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% and work overtime.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and passport; TWIC eligibility.
  • Willingness to travel overseas and/or work on offshore platforms occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose machinery problems using vibration and operational data.
  • Travel to customer sites to provide field service support.
  • Prepare timely reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Build relationships with customers and act as trusted advisor for rotating equipment health.
  • Calculate and oversee placement of balance weights.

Rotating Equipment Engineer

As a Rotating Equipment Engineer, you will be providing customers complete service solutions to address their critical rotating machinery assets, protection, and monitoring system. This will include evaluating machinery condition based on rotor dynamic analysis.

As a Rotating Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Diagnosing machinery problems based upon vibration data, operational data, and customer communications.
  • Travel to customer sites to provide supporting service.
  • Completing timely reports that identify findings and provide recommendations to the customer.
  • Building relationships with customers to provide a high-level of service delivery, becoming their trusted advisor for their rotating equipment health.
  • Calculating and overseeing placement of balance weights.
  • Applying Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a bachelor's degree in Engineering ( Especially Mechanical Engineering a plus)
  • Have minimum 2 years of experience with Rotating equipment or machineries (Compressors/Steam Turbines/Gas Turbines/ Water or Chemical Pumps/ Fans/Blowers)
  • Be available for extensive travel (up to 70%) and significant over-time (paid).
  • Possess a valid driver's license and passport (or able to obtain a passport).
  • Be eligible to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential).
  • Be eligible to travel overseas and/or work on offshore platforms on occasion.
Desired Characteristics
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of reliability services.
  • ISO certification for vibration analysis.
  • Demonstrated authority and assurance in dealing with people.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel.
  • Experience working under stressful working conditions.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Solid computer skills using MS Office software.
  • Knowledge of machinery protection and management systems.
  • Knowledge of or experience with AT LEAST one or more of the following: mechanical vibration, rotating machinery vibration and/or diagnostics, rotodynamic analysis, PdM data acquisition/evaluation, machinery balancing and alignment.
  • Knowledge of Bently Nevada products and CordantTM services.
  • Basic familiarity with computer network systems.
