Job summary

Cordant, a Baker Hughes company, is seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer to diagnose machinery issues using vibration and operational data, travel to client sites, and deliver actionable reports. You will advise customers on rotating equipment health and balance weights while upholding HS&E standards.

A mechanical background with strong communication is essential. The role requires willingness to travel extensively, eligibility for TWIC, and the ability to work offshore on occasion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• Minimum 2 years with rotating equipment or machinery (compressors, turbines, pumps, fans).
• Willingness to travel up to 70% and work overtime (paid).
• Valid driver's license and passport (or ability to obtain).
• Eligible to obtain TWIC and travel overseas occasionally.

As a Rotating Equipment Engineer , you will be providing customers complete service solutions to address their critical rotating machinery assets, protection, and monitoring system. This will include evaluating machinery condition based on rotor dynamic analysis.

As a Rotating Equipment Engineer , you will be responsible for:

• Diagnosing machinery problems based upon vibration data, operational data, and customer communications.
• Travel to customer sites to provide supporting service.
• Completing timely reports that identify findings and provide recommendations to the customer.
• Building relationships with customers to provide a high-level of service delivery, becoming their trusted advisor for their rotating equipment health.
• Calculating and overseeing placement of balance weights.
• Applying Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a bachelor's degree in Engineering (Especially Mechanical Engineering a plus)
• Have minimum 2 years of with Rotating equipment or machineries (Compressors/Steam Turbines/Gas Turbines/ Water or Chemical Pumps/ Fans/Blowers)
• Be available for extensive travel (up to 70%) and significant over-time (paid).
• Possess a valid driver's license and passport (or able to obtain a passport).
• Be eligible to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential).
• Be eligible to travel overseas and/or work on offshore platforms on occasion.

Desired Characteristics

• Theoretical and practical knowledge of reliability services.
• ISO certification for vibration analysis.
• Demonstrated authority and assurance in dealing with people.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel.
• Experience working under stressful working conditions.
• Project Management skills.
• Solid computer skills using MS Office software.
• Knowledge of machinery protection and management systems.
• Knowledge of or experience with AT LEAST one or more of the following: mechanical vibration, rotating machinery vibration and/or diagnostics, rotodynamic analysis, PdM data acquisition/evaluation, machinery balancing and alignment.
• Knowledge of Bently Nevada products and CordantTM services.
• Basic familiarity with computer network systems.
