Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking NCCER credentialed Pipefitters with Rope Access in the Baton Rouge, LA area. The Boilermaker role involves assembling, erecting, and repairing boilers, tanks, vessels and exchangers according to blueprints, with attention to safety and quality.

Responsibilities include reading field drawings, planning installation sequences, cutting and bending pipe, and testing systems. Compensation is based on qualifications and experience, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• IRATA / SPRAT Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 certification.
• TWIC Card.
• Must have NCCER certification.
• Basic knowledge of field drawings, sketches and engineering drawings.
• Be able to read and utilize a tape measure properly.
• Be able to understand and utilize a framing square as it is applicable to pipefitting tasks.
• Must know how to properly utilize power tools to prepare pipe for cutting, welding, threading and bolting.
• Must have a capacity for work at height.
• Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving skills.
• CPR certification.
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Uses Industrial Rope Access methods and related equipment to access and complete a wide variety of maintenance, repairs and other industrial work tasks while suspended on ropes or in difficult access areas.
• Plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers.
• Cuts, threads, and bends pipe; assembles and installs pipe fittings; joins pipe by a variety of joints.
• Secures pipe to structure with clamps, brackets, supports and hangers; installs and maintains refrigeration and air‑conditioning systems.
• Tests piping system for leaks; uses power tools; performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
