Job summary

Gibson Hotel Management is seeking a dynamic Room Inspector to join our Bardstown housekeeping team. The ideal candidate will lead a team to success through positivity and goal-oriented tasks, while upholding high cleanliness standards and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include updating checkout lists, inspecting rooms, coordinating with maintenance, mentoring new housekeepers, and ensuring issues are resolved before rooms are reported clean. We offer competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Housekeeping experience preferred.
• Experience leading teams is a plus.
• Strong guest service mindset and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Keep current with updated list of checkouts.
• Inspect all clean rooms and update them in the computer.
• Adhere to the hotel policy, handbook, and code of conduct.
• Ensure PTAC units are at proper levels (heating & cooling).
• Collaborate with the Executive Housekeeper to meet directives.
• Mentor new housekeepers through example and feedback.
• Coordinate with maintenance on repairs.
• Ensure issues are corrected by the responsible housekeeper before sign-off.

We have several exciting opportunities within our housekeeping department!! The ideal candidates will have experience leading teams to success through positivity and goal-oriented tasks.

Primary Responsibilities of a Room Inspector:

• Keep current with updated list of checkouts
• Inspect all clean rooms & update them in the computer
• Adhere to M. Gibson Hotels employee handbook, standard code of conduct, policies and procedures
• Ensure housekeepers have set PTAC units at proper levels (including heating & air)
• Work closely with the Executive Housekeeer to ensure directives are met
• Assist as needed with each new housekeeper through example, observation, demonstration, constructive feedback
• Coordinate with our maintenance team regarding items requiring repair
• Make sure that any problem in the room is corrected by the housekeeper who first cleaned the room and prior to the room being reported clean to the front desk

Guest Service & Satisfaction

• Housekeeping of at least 2 years preferred
• Responds promptly to any guest's inquiries or complaints
• Shows personal control in front of guests by maintaining positive attitude, staying calm & patient, avoiding use of negative language, and never displaying anger
• Demonstrates a commitment to servicing the guest; takes initiative to speak to a guest
• Acknowledges every guest with eye contact, nod, & greeting
