Hotel Fera, a DoubleTree by Hilton, in Orange County offers a Rooms Division Manager in Training (MIT) program that rotates through Front Office, Housekeeping, FERA Connect, Laundry, and other operations, while exposing you to financial management and strategic planning.

You will welcome guests, mentor associates, and drive guest satisfaction with structured leadership development and hands-on experience in budgeting, payroll controls, and cost management.

Qualifications

  • 2-years combined experience in guest services and supervisory experience in hotels or related professional area preferred.
  • Basic mathematical skills to operate and prepare calculations for financial reporting.
  • Effective analytical skills to evaluate reservations and make informed decisions on room availability or guest resolutions with sound judgment.
  • Previous hospitality experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured leadership development program focused on all Rooms Division operations.
  • Learn and support daily operations within Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, Laundry, and related departments.
  • Assist department leaders in maintaining operational efficiency, service standards, and guest satisfaction.
  • Participate in operational walkthroughs, room inspections, quality audits, and service evaluations.
  • Monitor guest service metrics and assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review guest feedback, surveys, online reviews, and service scores to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Assist with guest recovery efforts and service resolution processes.
  • Support leadership in responding to guest concerns and escalated service situations.
  • Participate in initiatives that enhance guest satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Assist with coaching, training, and mentoring associates throughout the Rooms Division.
  • Learn performance management, employee engagement, and succession planning practices.
  • Develop leadership skills through project ownership and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Budgeting, forecasting, payroll controls, labor management, and expense management processes.
  • Assist with analyzing operational reports and key performance indicators.
  • Gain exposure to monthly financial statements and departmental operating results.
  • Support cost‑control initiatives while maintaining guest satisfaction and service standards.
  • Learn revenue optimization and productivity management principles.

The Rooms Division Manager in Training (MIT) program is designed to develop future hotel leaders through hands‑on operational experience and leadership development within all areas of the Rooms Division. Essential Job Functions

Compensation: $29/hour

Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 10 lbs
  • Stand, walk and work at times in confined spaces throughout the shift in full sight of guests
Qualifications

Experience
  • 2-years combined experience in guest services and supervisory experience in hotels or related professional area preferred

  • Full understanding and comfort working on a computer with MS Suite-Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Previous experience with hotel PEP is preferred
