Job summary

The Hotel Hershey is seeking a part-time team member to transport food and beverage items within the room service operation. Work hours are 2:30PM to 11PM, with weekends/holidays required, at The Hotel Hershey in Hershey, PA.

Responsibilities include setting up room service carts, knowing the menu, and operating the POS system to handle cash, credit, and room charges while providing courteous guest service. Union schedule may apply.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must successfully complete RAMP training by passing the required test within probationary period.
• Must possess a valid drivers license.

• Maintain knowledge of menu and related items.
• Maintain knowledge of room service process to assist guests and answer questions.
• Operate the Point of Sale system for cash, credit card, and room charges.

This position is responsible for the transportation of food and beverage items to and from the guests via the room service operation and its related functions.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

• Arrange room service carts in a professional and appealing manner and maintain an adequate amount of room service supplies.
• Maintain a complete knowledge of menu and all related menu items.
• Maintain a complete knowledge of the room service process to be able to direct guests and answer any questions.
• Complete fundamental mathematics as needed.
• Operate the Point of Service System with responsibility for cash, credit card, and room charges.
• Handle guest concerns and questions in a thorough and professional manner.
• Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must successfully complete RAMP training by passing the required test within the established probationary period.
• Must possess a valid driver's license

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Must demonstrate a capacity to operate the Point of Sale system and complete elementary math functions.
• Must be responsible for cash, credit card, and room charge handling.
• Must demonstrate complete organizational skills both in paperwork and work area.
• Must be able to communicate effectively to co-workers and other staff.

Job Demands

• 2:30PM to 11PM; weekends and holidays required.
• Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, and push up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able to work in a safe and professional manner.
• May be required to work other shifts based on operational demands.
• This is a union position and the work schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be able to meet scheduled requirements, which will most likely require evening and weekend hours.
