Job Summary

A Housekeeper/Room Attendant is primarily responsible for maintaining clean and attractive guest rooms, hallways, and public areas in the hotel. This includes servicing guest rooms daily according to hotel procedures, stocking carts with room supplies, replacing bed linens, and replenishing guest room supplies while following company standards and safety/security procedures.

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills with guests and team members, verbally or in writing.
• Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
• Ability to work well under stress and in high-pressure situations.
• Effective listening skills to understand and clarify concerns raised by coworkers and guests.

Job Duties & Functions

• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance as per hotel scheduling needs.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag.
• Comply with all company standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations.
• Thoroughly clean and restock guest rooms per shift.
• Complete all pre-cleaning duties, including preparing supplies and linen for housekeeping carts.
• Remove trash and dirty linen from rooms.
• Keep hallways, public areas, and closets clean and organized.
• Prepare housekeeping carts for the next day.
• Clean rooms with the door closed unless requested otherwise by guests.
• Report missing items and maintenance issues promptly.
• Handle Lost and Found items according to standards.
• Follow all procedures outlined by the Housekeeping Manager.
• Perform other duties as required.

Working Conditions/Environment

The work environment involves inside conditions with protection from weather but not temperature extremes. Employees are not expected to work in hazardous conditions or extreme environments as per the detailed frequency grid provided.

Physical Requirements

• Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, finger dexterity, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, vision, and lifting.
• Frequent physical activity including lifting 20-50 lbs.
