Job Description Summary

The Room Attendant (RA) works with the Housekeeping Management Team to clean guest rooms and public space areas, and/or work in the commercial laundry facility, in accordance with brand standards to ensure guest satisfaction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver Sonesta Service in all guest interactions according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Respond to guest complaints and requests, taking corrective actions for satisfaction.
• Clean and service assigned rooms or areas following established standards, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, trash removal, and possibly cleaning kitchen areas and appliances.
• Notify supervisor upon completing service for room availability or report unserviceable rooms.
• When assigned to laundry, monitor supplies and equipment, operate washers and dryers, inspect linens, and report damages.
• Minimize waste of supplies and assist with deep cleaning projects as needed.
• Report repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Handle lost and found items per procedures.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through communication with shifts and management.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Preferred previous housekeeping experience.
• Background in extended stay industry preferred.
• Fluent English skills preferred; other languages beneficial.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills preferred.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move about; lift up to 75 pounds.
• Regular use of cleaning chemicals required.
• Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
