Job description

Join to apply for the Rooftop Loader role at SRS Distribution Inc.

This entry-level position supports the Driver by loading trucks and riding to job sites (residential or commercial) to unload building materials safely and efficiently. Materials are manually unloaded from a flatbed truck to the rooftop using a conveyor belt, with attention to the Roofing Contractors’ needs and property protection. Rooftop loading may involve flat or sloped roofs and buildings of multiple stories. It offers a great opportunity to learn about the industry and gain hands-on experience with new equipment.

Responsibilities include:

1. Ensuring safe and accurate delivery of roofing materials.
2. Operating conveyor or crane (if certified) to transport materials to the rooftop.
3. Distributing materials evenly across the rooftop.
4. Assisting in loading/unloading materials by forklift or hand.
5. Securing materials properly onto the truck.
6. Knowing all company products and services.
7. Verifying orders are correctly loaded.
8. Assisting the driver with backing up and site safety inspections.
9. Following safety practices and using PPE.
10. Helping with yard tasks like material relocation, cleaning, and organizing.
11. Assisting customers with loading materials onto their vehicles.
12. Delivering excellent customer service.
13. Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements for Success:

• Experience and interest in physically demanding work.
• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs. repeatedly.
• Ability to work on sloped roofs of various pitches and heights.
• Wearing PPE, including harnesses, per safety policy.
• Adherence to OSHA safety guidelines.
• Ability to read work orders and interpret instructions.
• Basic math skills.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Reliability, safety consciousness, and teamwork.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday with possible overtime.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
• Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.

Preferred Qualities:

• Forklift certification.
• Experience in distribution, roofing, or related industries.
• Knowledge of conveyor and loading machinery.
• Spanish bilingual proficiency.
