Job description

What You'll Do:

The Rooftop Loader supports the Driver at the Branch by loading trucks and riding with the Driver to job sites (residential or commercial) to unload building materials safely and efficiently. Materials are manually unloaded from a flatbed truck to the rooftop using a conveyor belt, with attention to the Roofing Contractors' needs and property protection. Loading may occur on flat or sloped roofs and involve buildings of multiple stories. This entry-level position offers an opportunity to learn about the industry, gain hands-on experience with new equipment, and understand our business operations.

1. Ensure safe and accurate delivery of roofing materials to the jobsite.
2. Operate a conveyor or crane (if certified) to transport materials to the rooftop.
3. Distribute materials evenly across the rooftop.
4. Assist in loading and unloading materials using forklift or manual methods.
5. Secure materials properly onto the delivery truck.
6. Be knowledgeable about all company products and services.
7. Count and verify that all orders are correctly loaded onto outgoing trucks.
8. Assist the driver in backing up the truck and inspect the delivery site for safety.
9. Prioritize safety by following proper practices and using required safety equipment.
10. Assist with yard tasks such as material relocation, cleaning, and organizing at the branch.
11. Help customers load materials onto their vehicles.
12. Deliver excellent customer service in a courteous and timely manner.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements for Success:

• Experience and interest in physically demanding, labor-intensive work.
• Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. properly and repeatedly daily.
• Ability to work on sloped roofs of various pitches and heights.
• Wear appropriate PPE, including harnesses, while loading roofs, following safety policies.
• Follow OSHA safety guidelines and proper use of PPE, ladders, and equipment.
• Read and interpret work and shipping orders.
• Follow verbal instructions to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
• Basic math skills for inventory counts.
• Verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Reliability, safety consciousness, and teamwork.
• Work Monday through Friday with overtime opportunities during busy seasons.
• Adopt the 'Make Money and Have Fun!' culture.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license or reliable transportation.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
• Complete pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
