Job summary

Baxter Hotel Group in San Diego is hiring cooks for the opening of two Hilton brands, Tru and Home2 Suites by Hilton San Diego Downtown. You’ll work on a two-kitchen layout (1st floor prep and 16th floor service), turning out creative bar bites that impress guests and support a smooth opening day across both venues.

Requirements include 1–2 years line cook experience, knife skills, food-safety knowledge, and a California Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain within 30 days).

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of line cook experience in a restaurant, bar or hotel kitchen.
• Solid knife skills and knowledge of cooking techniques.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in a busy kitchen.
• Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation.
• California Food Handler Card or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Team player with a positive attitude and good communication.
• Flexibility to work afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand, walk long shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Fire up the kitchen each day by setting up your station and prep for service.
• Prep, cook and plate bar bites and shareable plates to standards.
• Work across two kitchens: 1st floor prep and 16th floor service.
• Stock rooftop kitchen to par, restock during rush, and move food between floors.
• Maintain tickets movement with the front-of-house team.
• Follow food safety rules and health department standards.
• Assist with opening/closing and deep-cleaning duties.
