Job summary

Tecta America is seeking an Estimator responsible for preparing cost estimates for roofing projects and submitting bids to contractors and private clients. You will solicit projects, track bids, and provide accurate estimates based on blueprints, scope of work, and labor hours. Cross-training with Project Management and cost documentation are key parts of the role.

Travel is expected at 10–20%. The ideal candidate has roofing/construction exposure or training, strong MS Office and math

Qualifications

• Roofing and/or construction experience is preferable, but not necessary as training will be provided.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office as well as strong math aptitude.
• Jobsite visits are a mandatory part of this position
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to climb ladders on a repetitive basis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for roofing projects and submit bid to contractors and private clients.
• Solicit projects to be bid and track bid activity, revenue and margin.
• Prepare documentation by cost codes, scope of work, and man hours.
• Cross-train and assist in Project Management.
• Draft letters to General Contractors and clients.
• Analyze blueprints to estimate time, cost, materials and labor.
• Collaborate with engineers and contractors on cost estimates.
• Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Operating Unit President.
