Job summary

Mural Industrial is hiring two Mechanical Maintenance technicians for a state-of-the-art steel mill in Apple Grove, West Virginia. You will keep rolling mill assets online in a hot, heavy industrial setting, starting shifts with safety huddles and coordinating with crane operators for roll changes.

You’ll inspect chocks, bearings, gearboxes, and couplings, and perform preventive maintenance on entry/exit equipment and coilers.

Qualifications

• Experience with large rotating machinery in heavy industries.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and assembly schematics.
• Roll change experience is a standout asset.
• Comfort working in hot, physically demanding environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair roll changes requiring overhead crane coordination and basic rigging.
• Inspect roll chocks, bearings, gearboxes, seals, couplings, and shafts for proper operation.
• Align conveyors, table rolls, and shafts to keep equipment running true.
• Support hydraulic cylinder inspections and preventive maintenance on mill equipment and coilers.
• Read drawings and follow maintenance procedures to minimize downtime.

By midday, you’re inspecting roll chocks and bearings, checking gearbox lubrication and seals, aligning couplings and shafts, and verifying table rolls and conveyors are running true.
