Job description

A leading international manufacturer of industrial machinery is seeking an Electrician for a state-of-the-art steel production site in Apple Grove, West Virginia, which is presently in the commissioning phase. This permanent role offers the opportunity to join a renowned OEM at one of the most substantial new steel mill projects in the U.S. You will be working with advanced Siemens-based control and drive technology at a premier, long-term industrial facility.

Core Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be the upkeep and diagnostic repair of heavy rolling mill machinery. This includes managing AC/DC drive systems, motor control centers, VFDs, transformers, and various instrumentation such as sensors, encoders, and pyrometers. You will also be responsible for resolving electrical issues, executing routine maintenance schedules, analyzing complex wiring diagrams, and collaborating with mechanical and controls departments to ensure peak operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Proven background in industrial electrical maintenance, specifically with 480V three-phase systems, MCCs, and motor/drive upkeep.
• Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and repairing large drive systems or VFDs.
• Proficiency in interpreting and utilizing electrical schematics and technical wiring diagrams.
• Experience with Siemens PLC platforms like TIA Portal or S7 series is highly valued and should be highlighted.
• Help ensure regulatory compliance by holding a Journeyman Electrician license for WV or a reciprocal state.
• Contribute to operational success by leveraging previous experience in steel, aluminum, or heavy industrial environments.
• Maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by adhering to NFPA 70E arc flash protocols and LOTO procedures.
• Support continuous production by being available for rotating shifts at the facility.
• Ensure consistent attendance by having dependable transportation to the Apple Grove location in Mason County.

Compensation and Logistics

The salary range is $35-48/hr, commensurate with your professional experience. This is a permanent, direct-hire position located in Apple Grove, West Virginia, that includes a comprehensive benefits package.
