Job summary

Gerdau Ameristeel Corp. in Charlotte, NC seeks an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for the day shift. The role starts at $81,000–$96,000 per year depending on experience, with benefits beginning on day one.

You will maintain and repair mill equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and work with a team to ensure safe, efficient operations. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with mechanical/electrical repair skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair operations to keep mill, equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition.
• Start, observe, and operate equipment to detect malfunctions.
• Conduct preventive maintenance: inspect, adjust, clean, and lubricate equipment.
• Dismantle, replace, repair, install and assemble equipment, parts, and accessories.
• Detect and report faulty material, environmental hazards, and improper operation of mill equipment.

Your Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GEDA minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting, preferably with heavy machinery.
• Experience withmechanical or electrical repairs is required.

Your Purpose:

You will perform maintenance and repair operations necessary to keep the mill, equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating conditions; working in the many and diversified capacities required in maintenance.

Your Work:

• You will have a variety of occasionally complex duties requiring considerable care to effectively and efficiently dismantle, repair, lubricate, reassemble, as wells as general maintenance in varied capacities such as an electrician, machine repair, millwright.
• You will start, observe, and operate equipment to detect or verify the malfunction.
• You will conduct preventive maintenance through inspecting, adjusting feed, speed power input and output,cleaning, andlubricatingequipment.
• You will tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble equipment, parts, components, and accessories.
• You will detectand reportfaulty material, environmental hazards, and/ or improper operation of mill equipment or machinery.
