Job summary

Gerdau in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the day shift to keep rolling mill equipment in top condition. The role requires at least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience, with emphasis on mechanical or electrical repairs.

Welding/fabricating skills are a plus, and a Monday–Friday 6a–4:30p schedule is available. You will be involved in preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work across mill machinery, striving for safety and efficiency in a rugged, dynamic

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting, preferably with heavy machinery.
• Experience with mechanical or electrical repairs is required.
• Welding and fabricating experience is a plus.
• Flexibility to work Monday–Friday, 6a–4:30p.
• Team-oriented with good communication with Supervisors, Engineers, maintenance and production operators.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, repair, lubricate, reassemble equipment and perform general maintenance in varied capacities such as electrician, machine repair, and millwright.
• Start, observe, and operate equipment to detect or verify malfunctions.
• Conduct preventive maintenance: inspect, adjust feed and speed, power input/output, clean, and lubricate equipment.
• Tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble equipment, parts, components, and accessories.
• Detect and report faulty material, environmental hazards, and improper operation of mill equipment.

Your Qualifications:

Your Purpose:

You will perform maintenance and repair operations necessary to keep the mill, equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating conditions; working in the many and diversified capacities required in maintenance.

Your Work:

• You will have a variety of occasionally complex duties requiring considerable care to effectively and efficiently dismantle, repair, lubricate, reassemble, as wells as general maintenance in varied capacities such as an electrician, machine repair, millwright.
• You will start, observe, and operate equipment to detect or verify the malfunction.
• You will conduct preventive maintenance through inspecting, adjusting feed, speed power input and output,cleaning, andlubricatingequipment.
