Job summary

Gerdau North America is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for the Day Shift in the Charlotte area. The role offers a starting salary between $81,000 and $96,000 per year with benefits beginning on day one.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience, including mechanical and electrical repairs, welding, and fabricating. Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM work hours apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting, preferably with heavy machinery.
• Experience with mechanical or electrical repairs required.
• Welding and fabricating experience a plus.
• Flexibility to work Monday–Friday, 6a–4:30p.
• Team-oriented with good communication across shifts and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair to keep mill, equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition.
• Dismantle, repair, lubricate, reassemble equipment and perform general maintenance in varied roles (electrician, machine repair, millwright).
• Start, observe, and operate equipment to detect malfunctions.
• Conduct preventive maintenance: inspect, adjust, clean, and lubricate equipment.
• Identify faulty material, environmental hazards, and/report improper operation.

Your Qualifications

Your Purpose

You will perform maintenance and repair operations necessary to keep the mill, equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating conditions; working in the many and diversified capacities required in maintenance.

Your Work

• You will have a variety of occasionally complex duties requiring considerable care to effectively and efficiently dismantle, repair, lubricate, reassemble, as wells as general maintenance in varied capacities such as an electrician, machine repair, millwright.
• You will start, observe, and operate equipment to detect or verify the malfunction.
• You will conduct preventive maintenance through inspecting, adjusting feed, speed power input and output, cleaning, and lubricating equipment.
• You will tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble equipment, parts, components, and accessories.
• You will detect and report faulty material, environmental hazards, and/ or improper operation of mill equipment or machinery.
