Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in South Carolina seeks a dedicated team member to support Rolling Mill operations. You will place bars, monitor equipment, and assist with quality checks, contributing to safe and efficient production. The role emphasizes reliability, ability to work 12-hour shifts, and following CMC safety programs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work a 12 hour shift, including overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand and perform physical tasks for long periods.
• Strong communication in English, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrate dependability and ability to multitask.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Place bars in blades in a safe and efficient manner.
• Learn product quality identification and operation of the cooling bed.
• Recognize bar quality issues and inform the shift supervisor.
• Support the Rolling Mill crew with day-to-day operations.
• Monitor reheat furnace temperature and adjust rolling pace.
• Participate in CMC Safety Programs and uphold safety culture.
• Ensure equipment inspection reports are completed each shift.
• Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
• Perform daily housekeeping and keep work area clean and organized.
• Troubleshoot work-related problems using job knowledge and teamwork.
• Perform minor maintenance or repairs as needed without maintenance staff.
