Job summary

SMS group is seeking a Technician to perform daily roll shop tasks such as housekeeping, chocking/dechocking rolls, grinding rolls, and overhead crane rigging and movement. The role rotates 4 on 4 off with day and night shifts (6 a.m.–6 p.m.

or 6 p.m.–6 a.m.). The candidate should have a High School diploma, 2–3 years of equipment function experience, and crane/forklift certifications are preferred (in-house training provided).

Qualifications

• Education: High School/Equivalent.
• Two to Three years of experience in a specific equipment function preferred.
• Crane and forklift certifications preferred – in house training provided to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain housekeeping in Area Of Responsibility (A.O.R).
• Maintain acceptable attendance.
• Willingness to learn new tasks/jobs.
• Be self-motivated when not given a specific task.
• Fork truck operation.
• Take direction from lead man or supervisors.
• Maintain time keeping documentation.
• Wear required PPE.
