Job summary

Knape & Vogt Manufacturing Company in Grand Rapids is seeking an experienced Roll Form Technician to join our industry-leading team. You will perform preventive and mechanical maintenance on electrical feed systems and roll forming equipment.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, inspecting profiles with precision tools, reading blueprints, setting rolls to CAD data, grinding within tight tolerances, and supporting tool room operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as Roll Form Technician or Roll Form Operator.
• Strong reading of blueprints and CAD data for setup.
• Understanding of mechanical, air, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and mechanical maintenance on roll forming equipment and electrical feed systems.
• Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and rebuild roll forming machinery and tooling.
• Read blueprints, set rolls to CAD data, and grind to tight tolerances.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Perform preventive maintenance, mechanical maintenance of electrical feed systems, and minor repairs to mechanical systems
• Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, rebuild mechanical roll forming systems, tooling, and machinery
• Inspect profiles using comparator, Vernier calipers, Micrometers, height gages, dial indicators, production gaging, Keyence IM and surface checking gages
• Read blueprints and accurately set and pin rolls to CAD data provided, layout rolls for grinding and accurately grind to within +/- 0.0002 tolerance
• Operate all tool room equipment and assist with design changes for roll forming machines
• Other duties as assigned

What You Will Bring:

• At least 2 years of experience as Roll Form Technician and/or Roll Form Operator in a manufacturing setting
• High School Diploma/GED
• Understanding of mechanical, air, hydraulic, and other systems, working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices and ability to read blueprints
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems, Oracle preferred
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand basic English
• Completion of trade school or formal training, certified Machinist or Die Maker is a plus!
